Significance of Music

Since the dawn of time, music has been an integral factor of human existence. We create, love, listen, sing, live by it . Music exists all over the world as a universal language that brings people together. For many people, music can be a place to help them exert their frustration or anger if they were to be in a difficult situation. The beauty of music is how it conveys emotions of positivity, sadness, exhilaration, or even inspiration. It is the key to the soul which helps keep us humans physically and mentally healthy.
One example of the incredible impact of music would be in the song 1-800-273-8255 by Logic. It is a song that delivers hope to those who are suicidal. During his VMA performance he said: “From racism, discrimination, sexism, domestic violence, sexual assault, and so much more; I don’t give a damn if you are black, white, or any color in between. I don’t care if you’re Christian, you’re Muslim, you’re gay, you’re straight, I am here to fight for your equality. Because I believe that we are all born equal, but we are not treated equally and that is why we must fight. We must fight for the equality of every man, woman, and child regardless of race, religion, color, creed, and sexual orientation.” This song has made a significant impact on music and the world itself.
Though music is just sounds, it is the melodies and rhythms, and often words that impact us the most. Thus, when people listen to music, their body dances along with it, experience images, and feel emotions. Moreover, music has powers of releasing the sadness, healing the hurt soul and consolidating the intimacy. It is undoubtedly one of the most prodigious things that we have. Music has no limitations.
