Memo #11

Why Christmas is My Favourite Holiday
My most favorite time of the year is Christmas. Unlike the majority of the other holidays, Christmas is a family holiday filled with joy and happiness. It is the time of giving, loving, and spending time with your loved ones. The exhilarating thrill you get when you wake up early on Christmas morning to open the presents under the Christmas tree is great and all but do you know what the best part about Christmas is? It’s the time off that you get from school or work and spending that time with your loved ones. I guess Christmas shopping and all the sales are great too.
The celebration of Christmas is a special moment that happens once a year. On this auspicious day, receiving presents is splendid, especially as a kid, but nothing beats the feeling of giving the presents to the people. In my opinion, giving a present brings me even more joy than receiving it. The most exciting moment is when the person opens your present and you can see their eyes glisten with happiness and pleasure. The rewards of giving are priceless unlike the short joy of receiving. If you want to have happiness, you need to give happiness. If you want love, you need to give love. It is only in giving that you receive. No matter what your circumstances in life, you have the ability to give.

Christmas reminds us about how great it feels to receive gifts. However, the joy of getting is short-lived. Our lives become richer and more joyful when we give, and that inner joy comes from helping others to better their lives. As Andy Williams once said: It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
